The Unspoken Language of Safeguarding

Practice Based Training for Child Therapists

This course has now finished. All attendees can access their purchased resources through the PIP Portal.

Course Overview

Comprehensive online training providing competence and confidence to child and adolescent therapists.

Safeguarding training is an essential component for all child therapists, as it directly addresses one of the most critical and potentially anxiety inducing aspects of their practice in protecting vulnerable children.

The responsibility to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns can be daunting, especially given the complex and sensitive nature of these situations. This training is specifically designed to alleviate that anxiety by providing therapists with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to handle safeguarding issues effectively and with care.

Our interactive, practice-based approach offers valuable opportunities for therapists to reflect on their professional experiences and consider their positions within real-world safeguarding scenarios.

Participants will leave the training with a wealth of resources, including a comprehensive “Safeguard Yourself” checklist and a convenient Quick Reference Tool to guide them through the referral process seamlessly. Additionally, a complete 56 page Participant Pack containing all necessary information ensures that participants feel competent and prepared to uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection in their professional practice.

About Connie Bedingford-Lowe

Connie is a PTUK Accredited Play Therapist with a BSc in Psychology and 18 years experience of working therapeutically with children and young people.

She has worked therapeutically with many children who have been severely impacted by their experiences of abuse.
