Making sense of our senses - Swindon, 10th-11th April 2021
Children with Sensory Integration and Sensory Processing Difficulties can have a range of emotional, social and behavioural difficulties which can impact on everyday life. Children who struggle with sensory processing difficulties do not process information efficiently and consequently they receive too much or too littler sensory feedback.
This two-day training will explore the child's sensory world and develop participants' awareness and understanding of the links between sensory processing difficulties, arousal and behaviour.
Participants will leave the training with an awareness of how to identify sensory issues as they present in therapy and a toolkit to support their clients with these specific needs.
- To provide participants with an understanding of sensory processing disorder
- For participants to have an awareness of the similarities and differences between sensory processing difficulties, arousal states and behaviours
- To give participants with appropriate tools and strategies to support those with sensory behaviours
