Course Overview

Over the course of this 90 minute Refresher Session, participants will explore how prenatal experiences shape a baby’s physical, emotional, and psychological development. Participants will learn about:

  • Types of Trauma: Physical, environmental, psychological, emotional, and birth-related stressors that impact a baby’s development during pregnancy.
  • Neurophysiological Impact: How maternal stress and elevated cortisol levels influence brain development, leading to potential emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Early Indicators: Identifying physical, emotional, and behavioural signs of womb trauma in infants and young children.
  • Principles of Healing: Therapeutic approaches to address womb trauma, including co-regulation, play-based therapies, and caregiver-child interventions, emphasising the role of caregivers in fostering resilience and healing.

This course equips professionals and caregivers with the knowledge and tools to understand and address the lifelong effects of womb trauma, promoting healing and developmental repair.
