Biography
I am a PTUK Play Therapist with a BSc in Psychology and 20 years experience of working therapeutically with children and young people. In a previous role I was a Child Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Assistant Director in a residential therapeutic community, employing an integrated systemic model working with children traumatised by abuse. Having held the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) within this organisation and through being a self-employed Play Therapist, I have significant experience of safeguarding through partnership working. I have worked therapeutically with many children who have been severely impacted by their experiences of abuse. These experiences have given me a unique perspective on the complexities of safeguarding within a therapeutic context, alongside a passion for sharing best practice to support others in their work as child therapists.
